Put It in the Shed
100-word flash fiction
Put it in the shed, then, Pete said. It’s not like we’ll use it again.
But we did.
When the landlord sent yet another flatmate round and he started going on about vegan cheese and could he keep his cat in his room Pete gave me this look and I slipped out into the yard. It was exactly where I’d put it, the blade still sharp – I know because I tested it on my thumb.
It didn’t take long: the guy didn’t put up much of a fight.
He’s in the shed now, too.
Next to the others.
